On the sixth day of its two-week lockdown, Odisha has reported 10,031 cases and 17 deaths over the 24 hours leading up to today morning, according to official data.
Of the total new cases, 6,623 were reported from quarantine and the remaining 3,408 came from local contacts, as reported by the state Information and Public Relations Department.
The district of Khordha has reported the highest numbers with 1,329 fresh cases, followed by Sundargarh with 824, Cuttack with 720, Kalahandi with 433 and Jharsuguda with 418 cases.
Of the latest daily deaths in the state, Sundargarh, Rayagada, Khordha and Kalahandi reported three each, followed by two from Puri, while Anugul, Balangir and Dhenkanal accounted for the remaining three.
Odisha’s Covid caseload has reached 5,44,873 and its overall death toll has touched 2,197.
Meanwhile, 4,47,863 people have recovered from their bout with the deadly virus since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, with 94,760 active cases at present.
A total of 1,05,66,215 Covid tests have been conducted in the state so far.
