Odisha Logs 11,805 New Cases, 21 Deaths, in Latest Daily Count

Odisha has reported 11,805 cases and 21 deaths in the 24 hours leading up to today morning, according to official data.

Of the total new cases, 6,611 were reported from quarantine centres and 5,194 came from local contacts, as per the state Information and Public Relations department.

Khordha registered the highest numbers with 1,414 fresh cases, closely trailed this time by Sundargarh with 1,209 and Cuttack with 1,197 cases. Rounding up the top five districts with the highest daily cases are Sambalpur and Jajpur with 553 and 392 cases, respectively.

Khordha also remains the district with the highest caseload with 93,264 cases, followed Cuttack and Sundargarh at 47,357 and 44,264, respectively.

The state’s Covid caseload has touched 6,00,492, with 1,06,471 active cases at present, while 4,91,674 people have recovered from the disease since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.

Of the latest deaths, Khordha accounted for four, followed by Angul at three, while Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Puri, Rayagada and Sundargarh saw two deaths each, with Boudh, Gajapati, Koraput and Nuapada sharing the remaining four.

The state has conducted 1,08,25,914 Covid tests so far.
