Samar Mahapatra Wins Both Ways at National HR India Leadership Awards

IF Desk

Most players and experts in the world of business tend to agree on one thing: Aptitude and attitude are the twin pillars of success.

So when an out-and-out people’s person like Samar Mahapatra received the “Outstanding Architect of HR Fraternity” honour at the prestigious National HR India Leadership Awards 2021, it made perfect sense.

HR India – established barely two years ago with the ambition of serving as a one-stop shop for knowledge sharing, career development and cultivation of mutual interests among human resources professionals – is one of the fastest growing professional groups in the world, with 10,000-plus members both within and outside India.

Even amidst the pandemic, the group has conducted numerous well-attended and critically acclaimed webinars.

The awards ceremony, a mega virtual annual event, was hosted by none other than the famous Tina John, with popular singer Sunil Kumar Parida gracing it with a rendition of Sri Ganesha Vandana.

A panel of eminent HR gurus – Dr. Adil Malia, Dr Aquil Busrai, Dr GP Rao, Mr Ranjan Mohapatra and Ms. Debjani Roy – helmed a discussion on the Role of HR in Creating a Culture of Performance, Innovation, Collaboration, and Entrepreneurial Mindset, with well over 100 people from across India enjoying an extremely engaging session.

The other highlight, of course, was the awards ceremony in which 30 accomplished HR professionals were felicitated with highly coveted awards under various categories, such as HR Woman Leader of the Year, Lifetime Achievement in HR, Young Leader in HR, Coach and Mentor of the Year, Skill Development Leader, Lifetime Achievement in L&D, Digital HR Guru, HR India Champion and, of course, Outstanding Architect of HR Fraternity.

Apart from winning a well-deserved big award as the man who started the group, Samar also coordinated with Shaifaly Singhal, Satya Prakash Samal and Deepak Moharana of HR India for successful execution of the program.

That success was indeed well reflected in the praise that both the panelists and the participants heaped on the event and its organisers.

Yet for HR aces such as Samar and his colleagues, who are following their passion with the right attitude and aptitude, it was all in a day’s work.
