Odisha reported 8,914 new Covid-19 cases and five deaths over the past 24 hours, according to the state health department.
Of the total daily cases, 5,081 cases were from quarantine centres around the state while the remaining 3,833 were through contact tracing, as per data released by the state Information and Public Relations department.
Of the latest fatalities, as per government data, three were reported from Khordha district as Sundargarh accounted for the remaining two.
With this, the total Covid caseload in Odisha since the outbreak of the pandemic has risen to 4,71,536 and the death toll has touched 2,073.
The state has seen 397,575 recoveries, with 71,835 active cases at present, and a total of 1,02,27,321 samples tested so far.
