The decline in daily Covid-19 cases continues in Odisha, with 7,188 fresh ones reported in the 24 hours leading up to today morning, but the deadly virus once again claimed a record 35 lives, according to data on the state government’s online Covid dashboard.
Of the new cases, 4,026 came from quarantine centres and 3,162 from local contact tracing, according to the state Information and Public Relations department.
While the district of Khordha accounted for the highest numbers, with 1,134 positive cases, Angul saw the highest number of fatalities with five deaths.
Odisha’s overall Covid caseload has risen to 7,47,143, with 97,271 active cases. While the death toll has risen to 2,686 in the state, 6,47,133 people have recovered from coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.
A total of 1,16,45,402 Covid tests have been conducted in the state so far.
