Odisha is back on the road to victory over Covid-19, with 3,031 fresh cases and 43 fatalities recorded in the past 24 hours, compared to 3,577 cases the day before, according to data on the state government’s online Covid dashboard.
Of the latest cases, 1,738 were reported from quarantine centres across the state and 1,293 came from local contact tracing.
Khordha continues to be the most infected district, with 381 cases, followed by Cuttack with 295, Balasore with 290, Jajpur with 226 and Puri with 180 cases.
Khordha also saw the highest casualties of all districts in Odisha, with six deaths, followed by five each in Bargarh and Cuttack, Puri and Jharsuguda with four each, Ganjam and Koraput with three each, Balangir, Boudh, Sambalpur and Sundargarh with two each as Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara and Rayagada accounted for the remaining four cases.
Odisha’s overall Covid-19 caseload has now risen to 8,80,533, with 36,633 active cases. While 3,633 people in the state have succumbed to the deadly virus, 8,40,214 people have recovered from it since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.
A total of 1,31,56,199 Covid tests have been conducted in the state so far.
