Odisha Logs 3,319 New Cases, 43 Casualties, in Latest Daily Covid Count

Odisha continues to see a slight dip in its daily Covid numbers for the third day, with 3,319 fresh cases and 43 deaths reported in the latest 24-hour period, according to data on the state government’s online Covid dashboard.

Of the latest new cases, 1,896 came from quarantine centres and 1,423 from local contact tracing, as per the state Information and Public Relations department.

The district of Cuttack registered the highest numbers with 566 cases, followed by Khordha (440), Balasore (397), Mayurbhanj (199) and Jajpur (194).

Khordha saw by far the highest casualties with nine deaths, followed by Bargarh, Nayagarh and Puri with five each, Sundargarh with four, Bhadrak, Cuttack and Ganjam with three each, Dhenkanal with two, as Balasore, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj and Sambalpur accounted for the remaining four cases.

Odisha’s overall Covid caseload has now risen to 9,03,789, with 32,404 active cases at present. While 8,67,402 people have recovered from their fight with the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, 3,930 people have succumbed to it.

A total of 1,36,20,526 Covid tests have been conducted in the state so far.
