Odisha has registered 2,110 fresh cases and a record 66 deaths in the latest 24-hour count, according to data on the state government’s online Covid dashboard.
Of the latest cases, 1,213 came from quarantine centres and 897 from local contacts tracing, as per the state’s Information and Public Relations department.
The district of Khordha has logged the highest numbers with 458 cases, followed by Cuttack (323) and Balasore (168).
Khordha also posted the highest casualties with 21 deaths, followed by Bargarh and Sundargarh with 10 each and Balasore with eight.
Odisha’s overall caseload has now risen to 9,47,859, with 22,299 active cases. While the virus has claimed 4,861 lives, 9,20,646 people have recovered from it since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.
A total of 1,48,45,260 Covid tests have been conducted in the state so far.
