Slow Decline: Odisha Logs 2,070 New Cases, 64 Casualties in 24 Hours

In a slight dip from yesterday, Odisha has registered 2,070 fresh cases and 64 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to data on the state government’s online Covid dashboard.

Of the latest cases, 1195 came from quarantine centres and the remaining 875 from local contacts tracing, as per the state Information and Public Relations department.

The district of Khordha saw the highest numbers with 446 cases, followed by Cuttack (319) and Balasore (176).

Khordha also reported the highest casualties with 22 deaths, trailed by Bargarh (10) and Balasore (8).

Odisha’s overall caseload has now risen to 9,49,929, with 21,742 active cases at present. While 9,23,209 people have recovered from the deadly virus since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, 4,925 lives have been lost to it.

The state has conducted 1,49,15,504 Covid tests so far.
