Glitchy Start for iPhone 12 mini

The Apple’s iPhone flagships have been the world’s most technologically advanced phones, incorporating some advanced features that are found in no other smartphone. This has created a niche for Apple’s smartphones and a loyal fanbase.

The Apple iPhone is seen as a coveted smartphone, and is very much a status symbol. Following the success of iPhone 11 series, the iPhone 12 series was released by Apple last month. The iPhone 12 series also included an iPhone 12 mini which was touted as a compact version of the iPhone 12.

The iPhone 12 mini is an exact replica of the iPhone 12 and was touted as the king of small smartphones at the time of its launch. Designed for people who are always on the go and take their phone everywhere, the small smartphone perfectly fits into pockets and is easy to use with one hand. The phone, with a ceramic shield screen and an OLED screen with LCD display, is four times more drop-resistant than previous smartphones of the iPhone range and it boasts a crisp and vivid display with immersive viewing experience. With an A14 bionic chip processor, the iPhone 12 mini is one of the fastest smartphones with smooth performance and speed promised in its compact body.

However, initial buyers of the iPhone 12 mini have experienced a problem in accessing the camera or flashlight from the lock screen and the phone’s first models are coming with a touchscreen bug that is decreasing the response speed of the lock screen. This could be a serious issue as some users are complaining of not being able to open the lock screen despite sliding up to access the passcode.

Some users have reported that the iPhone 12 mini is experiencing lock screen issues with a case and screen protector on it and this could be a grounding issue faced in the phone. The lock screen works fine without a case or screen protector and also when the phone frame or the camera lens frame is touched. Users have also observed that the issue gets resolved when plugged into a wall charger. Thus, users are suspecting that the issue might be relating to conduction.

The issue gets resolved once the lock screen opens and the phone works smoothly in its unlocked mode.

Taking note of these bugs, Apple has recently released iOS 14.2.1 with bug fixes that resolve issues of lock screen responsiveness as well as adding features for MMS messages and hearing devices.

The bug fixes are available for the iPhone 12 series and will be resolving the existing issues in the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12. Hopefully after this update, the iPhone 12 users will be gaining a new seamless experience with their new smartphones.
