Odisha has reported a marginal decline in its daily Covid numbers with 2,542 fresh cases and 57 deaths reported in the latest 24-hour count, according to the state government’s online Covid dashboard.
Of the latest cases, 1,458 have come from quarantine centres and 1,058 from local contact tracing, as per the state Information and Public Relations department.
The district of Cuttack has registered the highest figures, with 428 cases, closely trailed by Khordha with 424, with Balasore coming next at 220.
However, Khordha continues to see the highest fatalities, with 10 deaths, followed by Ganjam, Bargarh, Nayagarh, Puri and Sundargarh with five each and Dhenkanal, Kalahandi and Koraput with four each.
Odisha’s overall caseload has now risen to 9,32,330, with 27,580 active cases at present. While 9,00,282 people have recovered from their bout with the dreaded virus, 4,415 have succumbed to it.
A total of 1,43,35,808 Covid tests have been conducted in the state so far.
