Odisha has reported a slight rise in its daily Covid numbers, with 3,222 fresh cases and 46 fatalities reported in the past 24 hours, according to the state government’s online Covid dashboard.
Of the latest cases, 1,838 came from quarantine centres and 1,384 from local contact tracing, as per the state Information and Public Relations department.
The district of Cuttack registered the highest numbers with 619 cases, followed by Khordha (422), Jagatsinghpur (212), Balasore (208) and Mayurbhanj (195).
However, Khordha continues to see the highest casualties with nine deaths, followed by Sundargarh, Puri and Nayagarh with four each, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kendrapara and Sambalpur with three each, as Angul, Balasore, Bargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kendujhar, Koraput, Subnarnapur and Mayurbhanj accounted for the remaining 10 deaths.
Odisha’s overall Covid caseload has risen to 9,16,109, with 30,950 active cases at present. Although Covid-19 has claimed 4,109 lives, 8,80,997 people have recovered from their fight with the deadly virus in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.
A total of 1,39,08,095 Covid tests have been conducted in the state so far.
